I’m a part of DeviantArt, and while I don’t often post, I could not resist this meme that has been going around.

My artist’s comments from my page there:

While a survey from 2000-2009 would have led to even more crazy drawings and changes, this was a good way to think about what I’ve learned and where I’ve been. These years overlapped perfectly with my college and growing-up experience.

What I’ve really learned is that I need to draw more often.

Here’s to a great 2010. Time to get drawing!

I’ve been tagged by artist and blogger Tom to share seven things about myself!

1. I ask for a glass of ginger ale whenever I go on an airplane. It settles my stomach, although if that is a result of something mental or really because of the ginger ale, I cannot be sure.

2. I also enjoy knitting, chain mail linking, and Sculpey model-making as art forms, but drawing is much less taxing on my hands than any of them.

3. I love corkboards. Whenever I have access to one of my own, it is quickly filled up with sketches and prints, and then things quickly pile on top of those. I think that if I ever had the opportunity to make an entire room with a corkboard strip around it, I would.

4. I’ve just graduated, and I’m not sure where I want to go with my art. I’ve spent the better part of six years thinking that I wanted to be a game concept artist, and within the last year and a half of my program, I started finding that my way of drawing fits better in other roles. Time will tell.

5. When my husband and I finally get a cat, I have decided that it will be named Archimedes. Luckily, Dan agrees, too.

6. I declared that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up in preschool when we had our little career day things. After I was told that it was just a hobby, I went through lots of paying job options, like pediatrician, astronaut, architect, and programmer. Obviously, I eventually came back around to artmaking.

7. I spend too much time thinking about art and not enough time making it.

I haven’t been active in art-blogging too long, so I haven’t the faintest idea of who to tag. ^^ So instead…stoplight! Cutouts from magazines on construction paper. :)
